January Vocational Service designated Month -on 30th Jan. 2021 we had SERA & VERA ceremony at Dr. Nitu Mandke , IMA House, Awards were given by the hands of Col. Dr. Madan Despande. Along with this RY years we have also given awards to last years awardees due to lockdown we couldn't conduct planned program . Rotary Vocational Excellence Recognition Award for RY 2020-21 To 1)श्रीमती सुमन मरिबा मोरे श्रीमती सुमन मोरे यांचा जन्म मराठवाडा येथील बीड जिल्ह्यात झाला. लग्नानंतर पतीसह त्या पुण्यामध्ये आल्या. औद्योगिक वसाहत येथे राहून कागद काच पत्रा आणि भंगार वेचून उदरनिर्वाह केला. डॉ. बाबा आढाव आणि मोहन ननावरे यांनी स्थापन केलेल्या कागद काच पत्रा कष्टकरी पंचायतीचे काम सुरू केले. स्वच्छ सेवा संस्थेच्या अध्यक्ष म्हणून सध्या त्या काम करीत आहेत. अत्यंत कष्टपूर्ण अवस्थेत त्यांनी मुलांना शिक्षण दिले. त्यांचा मोठा मुलगा लक्ष्मण एका दैनिकामध्ये वरिष्ठ उपसंपादक आहे. त्यांची दोन मुले राम व भरत हे स्वतःचा व्यवसाय करत आहेत. सुमन मोरे या कचरा वेचक आणि कष्टकरी यांच्या समस्या मांडण्यासाठी नेपाळ, साऊथ आफ्रिका आणि स्वित्झरलँड येथे जाऊन आल्या आहेत. चार वेळा विदेशात दौरे केले आहेत. सुमनताई यांचे शिक्षण झालेले नाही. अडाणी असतानाही त्यांनी मोठे कर्तृत्व केले आहे. त्यांना आजवर 20 पेक्षा अधिक पुरस्कार मिळाले आहेत. त्या पुणे महापालिकेच्या स्वच्छता अभियानाच्या ब्रॅंड अॅन्बॅसिडर होत्या. 2)Capt. Thanmai Papagari Recently created ( with other 3 pilots) world history by not only flying over the North Pole but also by having all women pilots who successfully did it. The female crew of Air India have created history. These women have came on 11th Jan.2021 at Bengaluru from San Francisco after taking a 17-hour long commercial flight. It was the longest non-stop commercial flight in India. Captain Thanmai was the comander of the flight. She passed out of IGRUA in 2002. She then joined AIR INDIA in 2005. From 2005, She flew as a first officer on the AIRBUS-310, and then on the BOEING 777. In 2016, she began to fly as a commander on the B-777. She has also completed Bsc., mathematics through correspondence from Madurai Kamaraj University alongside with her flying training. She is also a member of IWPA (INDIAN WOMEN PILOT ASSOCIATION). The first of its kind in India, connecting and empowering women in all fields of aviation. About the Historical flight- The flight has been very special and historical as it not was an all women cockpit crew, but all for its special routing. It’s the second longest route being flown in the world right now. It’s also a direct flight from SAN FRANCISCO to BENGALURU. A long awaited sector connecting two very important silicon cities. The routing was also very crucial as they flew over the polar region, practically over the North Pole. Along with her on this flight were COMMANDER ZOYA AGARWAL, FIRST OFFICERS - AKANKSHA SONAWANE AND SHIVANI MANHAS. The flight from SFO to BLR covered a distance of 15154km in approx 17hrs and 25mins. They started out from San Francisco on a northerly route overflying airspace of Seattle(USA) 3.Ameera Patankar_Kathak Dancer, teacher & choreographer AmeeravPatankar, an Economics graduate, possesses a rare leadership quality, which helped her compose dance pieces in her college days. Dance is her first love; as such she decided to make dance as her chosen career after finishing her advanced Diploma in French. Ameera started her Kathak training since she was very young under Smt. Shama Bhate at Nadroop, Pune. She stood 1st in Lalit kala Kendra, Pune University, where she completed her MA in Kathak and received the National scholarship from the Ministry of Culture. Today, Ameera has bloomed into a dynamic danseuse, bringing both virtuosity and grace and an electric stage presence. She has a quick mind and agile disposition when she dances. She has won many prizes in different competitions over the years, performed at various festivals across India and in countries like France, Austria, South Korea, Israel, Qatar, China etc. and is the leading dancer of the Nadroop troupe in the choreographies by Shama Bhate. She has imbibed hard core traditional values though her training, along with choreographic aspects like space consciousness, intelligent lights, design etc. She has worked with Jazz musicians and world music, under her Guru's guidance, and blend with different music genres. In order to raise money for the project, the couple started by selling off their valuables as first contribution towards the donation of the oxygen generation plant. Founder of Soldiers Independent Rehabilitation Foundation (‘SIRF’) Soldiers! Service Before Self Mrs. Sumedha Chithade, has been following the ideologies of the greats like Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, Swatantravir Sawarkar, and Amte pariwar, and these ideals have always lingered in her mind since childhood. Queen Mary Technical Institute incident and the encouragement provided by Shri. Yogesh Chithade, to go beyond books and contribute a change to society, ignited a deep hidden passion to help the soldiers and their families, as well as increase their awareness of statutory requirements. She continues to be an active contributor towards soldier's welfare. Her passion, devotion, and urge to help soldiers get their due respect and courtesy made her sell her own bangles, and raise funds for the welfare of our soldiers! RY 2019 awardees for VERA - Suyash Jadhav Suyash Jadhav born as a normal child in a small village Pangare of Solapur district (Maharashtra), he started swimming at the age of 3 years, his father Shri. Narayan Jadhav was his first coach, following in his father's footsteps who was a national level swimmer himself. He aspired to fulfil his father's destiny one day by competing and winning medals at the international stage. However, in Class 6, Suyash suffered serious injuries to his upper limbs after getting accidentally electrocuted by unprotected wiring at a construction site. Both his arms had to be amputated and he subsequently spent six months in hospital following the incident. However, Suyash did not give up on his dreams and his love for swimming. He continued to compete in differently-abled competitions domestically and began to show promise. Not long after, he started competing and winning medals for India at the international level, fulfilling a childhood dream. Suyash became the first Indian Para swimmer to register the ‘A’ qualifying mark for the 2016 Paralympics in Rio and Tokyo Olympics 2020. He followed this up with four medals at the 2015 Winter Open Polish Championship in November[3] and continued his medal-winning form into 2016, winning three silver medals at the German swimming championship in January. He started his swimming journey in 2007. Since 2004 to the date, and have participated in many states, national and international competitions like- Rio 2016 Paralympic Games, 2018 Asian Para Games, Indonesia, 2017, and 2019 World Para Swimming Championship, German Swimming Championship. Rotary Vocational Excellence Recognition Award for RY 2020-21 To 1)श्रीमती सुमन मरिबा मोरे श्रीमती सुमन मोरे यांचा जन्म मराठवाडा येथील बीड जिल्ह्यात झाला. लग्नानंतर पतीसह त्या पुण्यामध्ये आल्या. औद्योगिक वसाहत येथे राहून कागद काच पत्रा आणि भंगार वेचून उदरनिर्वाह केला. डॉ. बाबा आढाव आणि मोहन ननावरे यांनी स्थापन केलेल्या कागद काच पत्रा कष्टकरी पंचायतीचे काम सुरू केले. स्वच्छ सेवा संस्थेच्या अध्यक्ष म्हणून सध्या त्या काम करीत आहेत. अत्यंत कष्टपूर्ण अवस्थेत त्यांनी मुलांना शिक्षण दिले. त्यांचा मोठा मुलगा लक्ष्मण एका दैनिकामध्ये वरिष्ठ उपसंपादक आहे. त्यांची दोन मुले राम व भरत हे स्वतःचा व्यवसाय करत आहेत. सुमन मोरे या कचरा वेचक आणि कष्टकरी यांच्या समस्या मांडण्यासाठी नेपाळ, साऊथ आफ्रिका आणि स्वित्झरलँड येथे जाऊन आल्या आहेत. चार वेळा विदेशात दौरे केले आहेत. सुमनताई यांचे शिक्षण झालेले नाही. अडाणी असतानाही त्यांनी मोठे कर्तृत्व केले आहे. त्यांना आजवर 20 पेक्षा अधिक पुरस्कार मिळाले आहेत. त्या पुणे महापालिकेच्या स्वच्छता अभियानाच्या ब्रॅंड अॅन्बॅसिडर होत्या. 2)Capt. Thanmai Papagari Recently created ( with other 3 pilots) world history by not only flying over the North Pole but also by having all women pilots who successfully did it. The female crew of Air India have created history. These women have came on 11th Jan.2021 at Bengaluru from San Francisco after taking a 17-hour long commercial flight. It was the longest non-stop commercial flight in India. Captain Thanmai was the comander of the flight. She passed out of IGRUA in 2002. She then joined AIR INDIA in 2005. From 2005, She flew as a first officer on the AIRBUS-310, and then on the BOEING 777. In 2016, she began to fly as a commander on the B-777. She has also completed Bsc., mathematics through correspondence from Madurai Kamaraj University alongside with her flying training. She is also a member of IWPA (INDIAN WOMEN PILOT ASSOCIATION). The first of its kind in India, connecting and empowering women in all fields of aviation. About the Historical flight- The flight has been very special and historical as it not was an all women cockpit crew, but all for its special routing. It’s the second longest route being flown in the world right now. It’s also a direct flight from SAN FRANCISCO to BENGALURU. A long awaited sector connecting two very important silicon cities. The routing was also very crucial as they flew over the polar region, practically over the North Pole. Along with her on this flight were COMMANDER ZOYA AGARWAL, FIRST OFFICERS - AKANKSHA SONAWANE AND SHIVANI MANHAS. The flight from SFO to BLR covered a distance of 15154km in approx 17hrs and 25mins. They started out from San Francisco on a northerly route overflying airspace of Seattle(USA) 3.Ameera Patankar_Kathak Dancer, teacher & choreographer AmeeravPatankar, an Economics graduate, possesses a rare leadership quality, which helped her compose dance pieces in her college days. Dance is her first love; as such she decided to make dance as her chosen career after finishing her advanced Diploma in French. Ameera started her Kathak training since she was very young under Smt. Shama Bhate at Nadroop, Pune. She stood 1st in Lalit kala Kendra, Pune University, where she completed her MA in Kathak and received the National scholarship from the Ministry of Culture. Today, Ameera has bloomed into a dynamic danseuse, bringing both virtuosity and grace and an electric stage presence. She has a quick mind and agile disposition when she dances. She has won many prizes in different competitions over the years, performed at various festivals across India and in countries like France, Austria, South Korea, Israel, Qatar, China etc. and is the leading dancer of the Nadroop troupe in the choreographies by Shama Bhate. She has imbibed hard core traditional values though her training, along with choreographic aspects like space consciousness, intelligent lights, design etc. She has worked with Jazz musicians and world music, under her Guru's guidance, and blend with different music genres. She has a choreographic spark within her that has led to some interesting works like ‘Kavi, Kalam aur Hum’, ‘Meghdoot’ (with literature) , ‘Koshish: Going Beyond’(improvisation), ‘Ekayan’(Kathak and Yoga), ‘mirror mirror on the wall’ (proverb based work) etc. Service Excellence Recognition Award. RY 2020-21 Sumedha & Yougesh Chithade Mrs Sumedha Chithade_ Mr Yogesh & Mrs. Sumedha Chithade. A couple in Pune helped in raising enough funds to install an oxygen generation plant for soldiers at Siachen. In order to raise money for the project, the couple started by selling off their valuables as first contribution towards the donation of the oxygen generation plant. Founder of Soldiers Independent Rehabilitation Foundation (‘SIRF’) Soldiers! Service Before Self Mrs. Sumedha Chithade, has been following the ideologies of the greats like Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, Swatantravir Sawarkar, and Amte pariwar, and these ideals have always lingered in her mind since childhood. Queen Mary Technical Institute incident and the encouragement provided by Shri. Yogesh Chithade, to go beyond books and contribute a change to society, ignited a deep hidden passion to help the soldiers and their families, as well as increase their awareness of statutory requirements. She continues to be an active contributor towards soldier's welfare. Her passion, devotion, and urge to help soldiers get their due respect and courtesy made her sell her own bangles, and raise funds for the welfare of our soldiers! She truly serves as an inspiration for all those who wish to offer selfless service! Shri. Yogesh Chithade As an ex-air force, Shri. Yogesh Chithade has himself experienced the life of a soldier and therefore empathizes with the hardships they go through and the challenges they come across under adverse conditions. Shri. Yogesh Chithade always thought of initiating changes through actions and not just through reading books or teaching. He doesn’t deny the importance of education, but believes more in being a helping hand, rather than being praying lips. He has been instrumental in inspiring Mrs. Sumedha Chithade to pursue her passion and in gathering resources as well as spreading awareness about soldiers and their life amongst people of all the age groups, especially school children. 4 ladies awardees for Year 2020-21 Being a Lady president & Lady DG of the District , selected all ladies from different fields & doing good in their profession as well as service to society. & Real service above self service to soldiers by Sumedha Cithade. RY 2019-20 awardee for VERA - Suyash Jadhav Suyash Jadhav born as a normal child in a small village Pangare of Solapur district (Maharashtra), he started swimming at the age of 3 years, his father Shri. Narayan Jadhav was his first coach, following in his father's footsteps who was a national level swimmer himself. He aspired to fulfil his father's destiny one day by competing and winning medals at the international stage. However, in Class 6, Suyash suffered serious injuries to his upper limbs after getting accidentally electrocuted by unprotected wiring at a construction site. Both his arms had to be amputated and he subsequently spent six months in hospital following the incident. However, Suyash did not give up on his dreams and his love for swimming. He continued to compete in differently-abled competitions domestically and began to show promise. Not long after, he started competing and winning medals for India at the international level, fulfilling a childhood dream. Suyash became the first Indian Para swimmer to register the ‘A’ qualifying mark for the 2016 Paralympics in Rio and Tokyo Olympics 2020. He followed this up with four medals at the 2015 Winter Open Polish Championship in November[3] and continued his medal-winning form into 2016, winning three silver medals at the German swimming championship in January. He started his swimming journey in 2007. Since 2004 to the date, and have participated in many states, national and international competitions like- Rio 2016 Paralympic Games, 2018 Asian Para Games, Indonesia, 2017, and 2019 World Para Swimming Championship, German Swimming Championship. In all the above and other competitions, He has won more than 115 medals. Arjun Award winner. He is now coch also. Giving traing of swimming at Balewadi.
