About Club
About Club:
Rotary Club of Pune Katraj came into existence vide RI charter on 16th May 1996 under the parent ship of RC Pune Tilak Road. The club was formed with 26 members under leadership of Rtn. Dr. R. P. Joshi.
Rotary Club of Pune Katraj is a 100% PHF Club with one Major Donor and 6 Multiple Paul Harris Fellows.
The club has sponsored a 1 community based Rotract Club and 4 Interact Clubs in Pune.
Meeting Venue:Electronic Industrial Estate Hall, Satara Road, Pune
Meeting Time: Saturday, 7.30 to 9 P.M.
Charitable Trust:
The Rotary Club of Pune Katraj Charitable Trust was formed under the able leadership of the club Rotarians .The trust is registerd with the Charity Commissioner, Pune.The donations to the club are exempted under 80G of Income Tax.
Service Projects:
- Our club has under taken several Service Projects. These projects have been addressing Social, Environmental, Medical, Educational aspects of the community. Some of which are as follows:
- Dialysis Center at Lokmanya Hospital
- Raksha Bandhan (Every Year)
- Adarsha Ganesh Mandal Competition (Every Year)
- Tree Plantation every year at various places so far
- Hemoglobin Check up for school Children
- Blood group Check up of school children
- Distribution of the spectacles to the needy people
- Matching grant project on child mortality.
- Swine flu awareness among the people through Mobile Van (called as Rotary Chariot) owned by the club
- Rotary Distance Education Project (RDEP) - Installation of RDEP units in 20 schools & running successfully.This program is ambitious program of Dist 3131 which aimed at providing quality education at affordable cost
- Construction of Knowledge centre at Yewalewadi School, thus providing a permanent place for RDEP activity in the Z.P.school of Yewalewadi
