Rotary Club of Pune Katraj , along with 4 Australian Teachers of TARA.Ed held a 10 days Teacher’s Training program at Yeolewadi Boy’s School, Pune and Yeolewadi Girl’s School , Pune. The Project Impacted, 31 Teachers and 910 children of the two schools. The 4 Australian teachers team was lead by Jennifer Star ( Director TARA Ed.) , Joshua Garretson, Madigan Mackenzie and Lara Curtis. English Language support, was provided by, Mrs. Ujjwala Salve. The Project aimed to expose the teachers to low-resource, interactive pedagogies to enchase the quality of teaching and learning. The Training Program built on certain identified priority areas, has specific focus on Science , English and Mathematics. Priorities areas identified to increase the quality of teaching and learning were 1. Interactive/Child-centered Pedagogies 2. Incorporating Teaching aides to the Classroom 3. Integrated Story-telling and 4. Spoken English It is unique project in training the teachers of the Municipal or the Village schools, that will help teachers in effective teaching and developing children’s Knowledge and skills in an interactive and interesting way.
