Awardees were selected based on certain criteria to give the Vocational Excellence Awards for this year. The Awardees included Dr. Rajendra Jagtap - who is a leading personality in the area of Disaster Medicine and has worked in all major disasters including the latest one in Nepal. He is on the national committee for disaster management Dr. Nitin Bora - in addition to running free clinics for people in slum areas, this doctor also works in the areas of de-addiction from drugs, alcohol, etc. He is also inclolved with HIV+ patients and works closely with Police in the Shantata committees Ms. Swati Mahalung - is a renowned journalist who has worked in tribal areas and has worked in investigative journalism to bring out issues of corruption. She is also an author of many books and conducts talk shows on radio.
